27/10

Editing day 1

  • Uploading files to premier
  • Potentially want to split screen the piece, with one clip fading in as another fades out, side by side- we will lose some footage because we'll have to crop the clips.
  • Kieran's brother will help us make a title
  • Did a vote and decided on the 2nd image for our split screen

  • Created a split screen crop line template on Photoshop
  • Trying to decide between voice over or interview audio & wether to work on audio or visuals first
  • Selected our potential audio for our voice overs
  • Managed to edit 1/3 of the way through

Tim Shoot Pics

26/10

Shooting went so well today, got some amazing shots. Had some lighting issues for the finishing shot, the reveal of the painting. Couldn't get rid of shadows for ages and the paintings were poorly lit. We played around for ages and finally found lighting that we could use. We also had some problems with the dolly, we couldn't get it to track in a straight line- shots kept going off to the left. We tried so many times and got a few shots that were almost straight- going to correct in post.

Millie Handheld Footage 19/10

Some handheld footage from filming with Millie the other day. Some of the footage isn't the greatest and the colours are slightly off, but just made a quick edit to share our progress.

Test Shots at the Blue Shed from 17/10

After our test shots in the morning, here's just a rough video of the shots we tried out and experimented with the lighting. We are also looking at 16:9 or 2:35:1 aspect ratio and tried out both to see how it looks!

Editing Track to Required Length

In order to comply with the assignment brief, we had to reduce the length of our Royalty Free audio track (originally 2:47) to approximately (1:30). To do this, I used Adobe Audition, using the razor tool to split the wav file, trimming sections and joining again using crossfades.
